Have you asked your co-workers this question? I bring it up because we live in such a diverse society that not all of our workforce is Christian and therefore not all would be celebrating this religious event. Christians will be busy celebrating the birth of Jesus, but what will the Muslims, Jews, Buddhists and all the other religious sects be doing tomorrow? And what about those among us who don’t even believe in God, in any shape or form? Will they be busy at their desks or work stations?
In North America, we have made Christmas a celebration of gift giving, of good will to all men (and women), but unfortunately also such a commercial event that the spending of money has over whelmed the real meaning of the holiday. As you look around at the decorations put up for Christmas, how many of them represent the birth of Christ and how many of them represent Santa Claus? Now I’m not against Santa Claus, but why is it that religious displays are so few and far between? We are a Christian nation – why are we not proud of that?
I think it is time for us to take back the true meaning of Christmas and not be worried about offending someone else if we decide to put up a display that celebrates our Christian beliefs.
So what are all you people doing tomorrow who don’t believe in Jesus or in God? And what will you be doing come Good Friday and Easter Monday?
